This research is focused on the ornamental quality of bags and is intended to present them as an expressive medium for art. Both architecture and bags struggle with the use and allocation of space and Yeonghyeon specifically draws on the dynamic distinctiveness of Santiago Calatrava and Frank O. Gehry. The formative dynamics expressed in Gehry’s atypical formation are achieved through shape distortion, overlap and asymmetry while Calatrava’s iconic style is captured with the use of symmetry and repeated motifs.
