WANDERING SPIRITS
Seiran works on her designs – which include headpieces – while working as a nurse at a psychiatric hospital. The idea of her work was to develop a dress to “communicate with the unseen world”. Her collection proposes new shapes inspired by Japanese shamanistic aesthetics, using various modern materials such as the 3D doodler pen and urethane. In Japan, “wandering spirits” are believed to be unstable spirits of the living which go away if left alone. Her pieces are like necklace-dresses detaching from the body as if floating.
