Sini-Pilvi got inspired by several different aspects from the 19th century: the oil paintings with their dark and rich colours, the velvet suits and ruffles of kids’ apparel as well as the elaborate floral embroideries of fabrics of the period. She was also inspired by Steven Patrick Morrissey bringing that modern element to the collection whilst maintaining a romantic feel. In addition, she also derived inspiration from iconic coats of the 50s (particularly those highlighting a contrast between the feminine and the masculine), often sourcing second-hand materials, particularly in regards to embroideries and applications which are all recycled.
